Boards laid straight onto the joists squash the insulation flat and stop it working. We fit a raised system: legs on the joists, insulation at full depth underneath, and a level, screwed-down floor you can walk on and stack on.

What we do, line by line.
- Joist check and a note of anything that needs strengthening first.
- Raised legs fixed to the joists, set to clear the insulation depth.
- 18mm tongue-and-groove loft boards, screwed not nailed.
- Boarding kept clear of the eaves so air still moves.
- Cables lifted above the insulation and clipped, never trapped under boards.
- A walkway to the tank, the boiler flue and anything else you need to reach.

Most lofts are finished in a day. Larger jobs take two. We tell you which before we start.

You see the finished work, and we leave photographs of the areas you cannot reach.
